Jamie, age 12, is a beautiful gray girl who is looking for her forever home. She was once a shy, fearful cat preferring to spend most of her time watching from the sidelines, but has recently been enjoying interacting more with our volunteers – loving pets and chin scratching and playing with feather toys. When she is approached, she will gently turn her head sideways so that you can scratch the side of her face. She’s definitely a girl who knows what she wants! She can be a bit sassy and swat at you when she’s had enough petting but she keeps the claws in (so thoughtful), so she would probably do best with an experienced cat owner, and wouldn’t do well with small children. She has bit of an independent streak and would do best in a quieter home, with adults and older kids. She would also do well as a companion to another non-dominant cat. She has never been around dogs, but perhaps a more laid back dog would be OK. If you are looking for a mellow companion, and don’t mind one who accepts affection on her own terms, then Jamie is just the girl for you. And, she has thumbs! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online adoption application by copying and pasting the link below: http://thecatconnection.org/adopt/adoption-application/ You will get a quicker response doing this rather than emailing us. We request $150 for each cat over 4 years old, $175 for each cat 1-4 years old, and $200 for each kitten under a year old. These donations fund neutering, vaccinations, and combo testing (feline leukemia and FIV) for your adopted cat, rescue efforts, shelter, and veterinary care. Our policy is to adopt kittens in pairs. We find that kittens are much happier when they have a companion and they tend to expend their youthful energy on each other rather than on your couch! Frenchie is a healthy, 5 year old handsome brown tiger male. If you like cats with a playful disposition, you will love Frenchie! He plays until the cows come home. He has been waiting for the right adopter to sweep him away into Fureverland. There is one thing you need to know about him. He is a shy cat around people. He is going to take time to adjust to a new home, and it needs to be the right situation for him. He needs a safe, quiet room to start in, so that he can gradually come out when he is comfortable. He needs caring and patient humans and a young cat playmate to help him adjust to his new surroundings. If you have a young cat at home that is looking for a playmate, he could be the right cat for the job. Or maybe you can adopt a young cat with him. He could do well in an adult home with older children and moderate activity. This is a special challenge for the right people. Come see him play and decide for yourself. Tyler is a spunky, gray female cat who is about 5 years old. She is living at a foster home with another female cat. She follows her foster mom around the house and really enjoys human contact. She sleeps on the bed with her at night. She likes to play with catnip toys and wand toys. She enjoys bird watching and squirrel hunting through the window. She may hiss at you when you first meet her or attempt to pet her before she gets to know you. She will tell you when she has had enough petting with a hiss, and she may occasionally try to nip. When she was rescued, one of her rear legs had been broken and healed on its own without medical treatment. Now she walks with a limp, but it doesn’t stop her from having fun. She needs to find security in a permanent home and the patience of someone who is willing to give her a lot of love and affection. A quiet, adult home without small children (older children okay) would be best. It might be possible to pair her with a young male cat. There is an affectionate kitty inside Tyler waiting to come out. Could you be the one to bring that out in her? Halle is a beautiful tiger and white girl. She is 8 1/2 years old but don't tell her that! Whenever she sees someone with a wand toy, she follows and will play until she tires out her human opponent. She runs, jumps, hangs upside down to capture the toy. Halle usually spends her time near Bonnie, a very cute, sweet-faced gray and white, 6 1/2 year old little girl. Whereas Halle loves interactive playing, Bonnie will spend long times playing, quite noisily, with toys by herself, batting balls through tunnels, tossing and recapturing her soft toys. Both these girls are gentle and seem to know how to avoid more aggressive cats and situations. Both have been in foster care since they were quite young, Halle was rescued from the Boston streets as a kitten and Bonnie came as a young mother. Although they are both somewhat shy, avoiding touching, they seem to really like being close to people. Halle has recently shown signs of considering the concept of petting, coming around her friends when they were all being petted and not backing off when she accidentally was touched. These two girls would be a delight for a quiet, patient adult family (perhaps including older children) who understand this type of cat, are willing to spend time, and will appreciate the joy of becoming trusted and bonded to them. Marvelous and Maverick are healthy 9 1/2 year old siblings. Both are shy but very different. Maverick is a silver tabby with white. He can be seen moving from room to room, napping in several different cat beds and condos throughout the day. He will let you approach him and pet him when he is nestled into a cozy bed. Marvelous is a beautiful dilute calico. She usually likes to watch the world from a safe place. If you approach her, she will run away. But she is always somewhere near her brother Maverick. The two of them find comfort in each other, no matter what is happening around them. They have been living in a home together since they were rescued as kittens. They are a bonded pair, and for that reason, they must be adopted together. They would like a home with patient adults and maybe older children who will understand their personalities and accept them for who they are. Shy cats want to be loved like all cats do, and adopting a shy cat can be a truly rewarding experience. Wanda is a delightful 1 1/2 year old little girl with a big purrsonality. She is full of love and affection who loves to snuggle in bed with her foster mom, and has a deep, resonant purr that you can hear in the next room. Wanda is a playful girl who can make a game out of anything, and loves to watch what you’re doing and feel like she’s a part of it. An inquisitive and happy cat, she will surely delight you with her cute and funny antics. She’s also very alert and intelligent and catches on quickly to what you want her to do. Small children may be overwhelmed by her sometimes rambunctious style of play, but older children should do fine with her. She’s a real “people” cat and doesn’t care for other cats, or dogs, so she should be an only pet – but you won’t need another with her! She would make a wonderful companion and family member and is the perfect combination of affection and playfulness all wrapped up in the most adorable package. Freddy is a playful, sweet 7 year-old cat. He still has tons of energy and loves to play with other cats or humans (he will always go for something dangled in front of him). He also loves attention and will demand it if he feels he’s not getting enough. Freddy would love to be adopted with his good friend, Quigley. Freddy was rescued from the street, and it’s likely that he had some hard times, because he is very scared of people he doesn’t know. It takes him awhile to get to know and trust someone and he will likely hide until he does, which could take weeks or months. So if you’re very patient and can wait awhile for him to relax and come out of hiding, you will have a great cat! Julius and his brother Oliver were returned to the cat Connection recently. The owner of these two beauties could no longer keep them due to illness. Now our boys are twelve years old and once again looking for their forever home. They went to the vet, had all their shots, senior blood work to rule out any illnesses, and guess what; they are in great shape! They are beautiful and sweet and a bit shy but they respond to love and attention. They would love to find a quiet home, hopefully with someone who is home a lot and can give them lots of attention. They are asking for no young children or dogs please. Just someone to love them who they can love back and spend their senior years with. My name is Needle, a 5 year old SH black female kitty. But don’t let my name fool you! My fur is softer than any other cat I know. I will let you touch it when I am in the mood for love. People recognize me by my voice, because I cry and meow when I want someone to touch me, and I hiss when I want them to stay away. I have a sister who we call Niblet, because she looks like me but is a little smaller. I was always the outgoing one of the two of us girls. Everyone always thought Niblet was a snob, because she ran away whenever someone approached her. But now sometimes she is the first kitty to greet volunteers who visit us, and she gets a whole crowd of kitties to join in with her. We like to hang out together during the day, so we really want to be adopted together. We are shy with new people, and we will take time to adjust to a new home. We would do well in a home with people who are patient and understand that we are not perfect. We may do okay with older children, and we are willing to try living with other cats you already have. We want to be loved, and we will return that love back to you if you let us. The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats. Quigley is a one-of-a-kind cat. It's true, he does have a hard time with new people and will probably need a period of adjustment (ie:hiding), but then he will likely become a complete snuggle cat. He will flop down next to you and roll on his back to have his belly rubbed and his neck and head scratched. He is a sweet, gentle cat who can peacefully coexist with another cat or cats, and will be blissfully happy as long as he gets lots of attention. He has a lot of energy and loves to play, he would love to be adopted with his friend Freddy. About 5 years old (but he plays like a kitten!), Quigley is a gorgeous long-haired tuxedo. He is FIV positive, but he is healthy and with good veterinary care he will likely remain so for a long time. Reginald, or Reggie, is a dignified gentleman. He is a quiet and unassuming fellow with shiny black fur and the face of an old soul. We call him one of our “therapy cats”, as he has an almost magical calming effect on the shyer cats he lives with, and some of them can only be patted when he is around. Whimsey is one of those cats. She is a petite smokey gray girl who came to us as a young mother. She was shy and reclusive for quite a while, always hissing when approached, but since she and Reggie began spending more time together, she has become quite a different cat. Now Whimsey will come to the door to meet our volunteers and loves to be patted, as long as her best friend Reggie is nearby. Afternoons find them napping close to each other on the sun porch, and it’s obvious from seeing them together, that these two are hard and fast friends. Reggie and Whimsey, both age 10 and in excellent health, have been in foster care for quite a while and deserve to have a home they can call their own. These two mellow, laid back cats would do best in a quieter household and would be wonderful companions, for the right people. They could also live happily with other docile cats. Simba is a brown tiger striped tabby with white paws, and you can see where he got his name when you see his face; he has adorable lion-like features. His personality is more subdued; he was shy when he first came but soon warmed up and now loves to be petted, but is still a more reserved cat, like a quiet and dignified lion. (A dignified lion that loves to play, that is!) The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats. There is a tax-deductible donation of $150 for each cat over 4 years old, $175 for each cat 1-4 years old, and $200 for each kitten under a year old. This helps with vet exams, spaying or neutering, initial vaccinations and the combo tests. Please fill out our online pre-adoption application. To find out more about us, please visit our web site.

Thornton & Thaddeus are 2 out of 4 siblings, 7 years old. Their sisters are Tequila & Terry Lynn. They would like to be adopted in pairs, and will need time to adjust to a new home before they come out in the open and let you touch them. But it will be worth the wait. They are shy cats, and they need a home with adults and maybe older children who have time to devote to them and appreciate them for who they are until they blossom into the majestic beings they are meant to be. Thornton is the handsome long-haired black male. He likes to sleep in a cat tube on the floor and sometimes in a kitty condo where he can be petted. Sometimes he cautiously approaches people without getting too close. He needs a patient, loving human to bring him to the next level of interaction. Thaddeus is a striking long-haired orange tabby male who can be petted at times. He likes to sleep in a cubby with other cats as he watches and listens to human activity in the room. Terry Lynn and Tequila are 2 out of 4 siblings, 7 years old. Their brothers are Thornton & Thaddeus. Tequila is a long-haired tortie, and she is the outgoing girl of our group. She loves to prance around like a little princess. She likes people and she likes to be petted, but she will tell you when you need to stop. Tequila likes to play interactively with toys that humans dangle in front of her. Terry-Lynn is a laid back long-haired tortie gal, watching from the sidelines, but she runs if you approach her. She needs a special person with lots of patience to show her how to be touched and loved. The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats.
